Praying Constantly

For the Seventh Sunday of Easter and what some term Ascension Sunday, we will look at what is described of the Ascension of Christ in Acts 1:1-14. We find that because Jesus promised his disciples that would be and made them witnesses (vv. 8-11), like them, we also pray for the promised power of the Holy Spirit (vv. 4,14). While we may be, in effect, stuck staring at what happened to Jesus (vv. 10-11), like the disciples, unsure of what to do next, we can learn from what is recorded. Together, we will carefully consider how 1) Jesus ascended (v. 9); and 2) the disciples depended (v. 14) on the gift of power, and what the implications are for us today.  Join us.
