Genuine Joy

In Luke 10, Jesus appoints 72 of his disciples to go into the "harvest field" in pairs. They return with excitement and reported some astonishing outcomes. They like us, and we like them, wind up rejoicing in good, even exceptional results. But, we can relish the secondary benefits of where we have been placed and to what we have been called even more than primary blessings. Victory, utility, potency, and agency can be celebrated even more than (1) something in which the disciples were told to rejoice and (2) another thing about which we are told Jesus rejoiced.

We will take a look this week at those two primary, full-blown, and abiding blessings from Luke 10:17--24:

  • Gracious designation - names written in heaven

  • Gracious revelation - from the wise and learned, hidden

When we delve into God's gracious appointment in light of these, then we come correct in our joy - authentically and rightly rejoicing!  Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.
