Strangers with the Supreme Hope

As we begin a new series in 1 Peter, we look at the beginning of the letter and see how Peter addresses the readers and how he then advocates for being filled with glorious joy despite suffering grief in all kinds of trials. Because we are exiles who have been selected to be saved in Christ Jesus we are to believe in him and be filled with a glorious joy. What does it mean that (1) we are "select exiles" with grace and peace in abundance; and that (2) we have been given a new birth into a living hope and imperishable inheritance? Let's look at it again.
